| | SILLY!!

Vinay, sent me this forward, pretty silly but my boss caught me laughing at work while reading this, dunno why ...
I would suggest, read these in typical shairana andaaz :)

Arz kiya hai ....

tuhaar chehraa moti samaan ...
tuhaar chehraa moti samaan...
moti hamaar kutte ka naam.

Durakht ke paymane pe chilman E husn ka furkat se sharmana...
Durakht ke paymane pe chilman E husn ka furkat se sharmana...
Ye line samajh me aaye to mujhe zaroor batana

Jaat riding a cycle, hits a Girl.
Girl:Ghanti nahin mari jaati kya?
Jaat: Re bawli ?!! Poori cycle maar di, aab ghanti
alag se maaru ke ?

She: Sandal nikaloon kya!
He: Pagli, ye mandir nahi hai, aise hi aajao...

| | So the rain gods decided against it..eh!

Koi baat nahin, the task will be accomplished on sunday morning now.

There is a lot of confusion over when diwali exactly is, is it on friday Oct 24th or Saturday Oct 25th? Whichever way -here is wishing all of you a Happy Diwali and a prosperous new year !!
Alright, I wont be jalaoing rassi bombs, anars, launching rockets into the building opposite my house. Even the white house intends celebrating Diwali this year.

The ISA in our school is a step ahead (?), they are celebrating navratri today :(, so filhaal its dandia time.

| | Technology!

The TVS cup starts today ! With the Dish ppl not showing it, the only option we had was to buy the webcast package from cricinfo.
Have bunked classes, missed tests, parties just to stay home to watch cricket, but never imagined being able to see cricket on the laptop, being webcast from half way round the world. *All thanks to my fellow coders (wink)*
The only hitch, they give u only one login, so that means..we have one screen off which 5 of us are gonna try to see the matches, the good thing- india's matches are on weekends, so we get to see most of them :)

No Mcgrath, gillespie, lee - we should crush the aussies so hard that they dont recover by the time we go face them in november.

And all those who had started doubting sachin already - choron it aint over till the short man swings his bat. The first match starts in 2 hours, its like 3:30 am - am hoping for a big one from him today.

| | Manish, my room-mate for the last 15 months or so moves out tommorow. Me him and atul shifted in this appartment of ours together last fall.
The first few months were spent in trying to adjust to each other, and together adjusting to the life style here in the US. The regular arguments, discussions over cooking turns, how much 'masala' to put in what dish, how much grocery is enough for the week and so on.
That done and with avijeeth coming in to stay with us, we have spent probably the best few months of our life here in "Savoy 315". The discussions, watching movies together, the numerous parties, our summer trips together and the frequent walks to "2000 Penn" will all go down in memory.
On careful observation, there was a lot i got to learn from him, including how to iron my clothes and yes make chappatis :)
15 months is a long time, He is like family now and even tho' our official 'Chappati Maker' goes outta sight, he sure wont be outta mind.

Here is wishing him best of luck in whatever he does in life !!

| | History in the making!!

It is a thursday night and i was struggling with some books for the last hour or so. The idea of going all the way to the library to study for an hour or two doesnt really make much sense, so i stayed back home.

We started off chatting bout our India trip in December, things to be done, places to go, restaurants to attack and clubs to go dance in. The conversation varied from the trip budget to a couple of special marriages to be attended, to how the credit card companies would have a hard time once we returned.

While doing so we realised that 2 cricket matches were going on, one in India and the other one down under. A small peek at the cricinfo main page shocked us, Matt Hayden of Australia was playing at 290 and was going strong. While Avijeeth and Atul had to go sleep cause of an early morning, I lingered on - on the pretext of trying to study, all i did was hit the refresh button every minute or so. From 300 to 350 to 375, Hayden laid an assualt on the hapless ZIM bowlers. He crossed the coveted 375 run mark with ease. Brian Lara's record holds no more. He just got out on 380, still maintaining his ever aggressive intent.

This probably is the fastest triple century, both in terms of balls and time taken. One of the best knocks in test history, it makes me shudder at the thought of the Indian pace attack trying to bowl and contain the Aussies. What with Adam Gilchrist coming in at number 7 and making a quickfire century like nobody's business. The scorecard reads 736/6 declared ??.

Our only hope in December (apart from the fact that GOD plays for us at number 4 ,offcourse :)) would be to see the Hayden's and the Gilchrist's join Mcgrath in the injury list!

| | Sigh !!

Its navratri and diwali time again, am sure there will be big time fun and celebrations back home. I wanna go back for this one month... go to sankalp, loiter around on the streets of mumbai with all my friends, follow the tradition of going to amar juice each night of dandia. Wanna eat all the mithai and other stuff they dish out on diwali. Burst some crackers and come back. Still thinking - is it really worth sacrificing all that and much much more to come here?

Contradicting that - the weekend was amazing, had a lot of fun with friends. Sapna and Hemant have already spoken a lot bout our F1 experience. Also happened to meet Elaichi in Indianapolis.

- the montoya - schumi battle still rages on. JaI. | 12:32 PM
