| | The move !

All my life I have lived in a BIG city. Born and raised in Bombay, I spent a good part of my life living there. The fast paced life, the ever moving traffic, the high commute rate, the crowded lanes, the insane local train rides - you kindda get used to all that around you. I remember the cycle idli waalas, the friendly sandwhich guy, the sevpuri waala - all near my house, anytime i would feel hungry, i just had to call out to em.
There was never a dull moment there, be it partying, or going shopping, or just hanging out with ppl from the neighbourhood, it was all so cool. All that i guess was part of staying in a fast paced city, wherein you hardly get space to yourself. And you get used to all that around you.

Then i came to D.C, not as crowded as Bombay, this was another happening place in its own right. Georgetown, M street, downtown, everything just a walk away. So much so , that i can safely say i havent even seen 50 % of what DC has to offer. The waterfront, momuments, museums, the memorial bridge all seem so magical now. They do NOW cause i am moving out of this place too.

I, along with 4 close friends am moving to a place called Vienna in VA. Not too far from downtown, it still is a fair distance. About a 30 minute metro commute, this place is absolutely laid back. A community, with only townhouses around us, this is not close to any other place i have ever lived in. A small townhouse, with a small stretch of trees behind us, all you can see from the deck behind is a run down garage kindda thingie (with only a bulb on at night - kindda spooky).

So much place around, with so few people, and so quiet that u can almost hear urself think, this place kindda makes me anti claustrophobic - if there ever was such a term.

listening to Rush rush- Paula Abdul.
